QuizHype LLC (“QuizHype,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using QuizHype, you agree to this Policy.
1) Information We Collect
A. Information you provide
- Account info: name, email, password (hashed), organization/school, role.
- Profile & settings: preferences, language, time zone.
- Content: quizzes, questions, media (images/audio), results, leaderboards.
- Support: messages you send to our support team.
- Billing: plan selection and limited billing details (we do not store full card numbers).
B. Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, clicks, timestamps.
- Device/Log data: IP address, browser type, OS, device identifiers, referral URLs.
- Cookies/Local storage: session tokens and preferences. See Cookies.
C. Information from third parties
- Payments via our processor (e.g., Stripe) provide us with payment status and limited billing info.
- Auth/Integrations you connect may provide basic identifiers and tokens (never your password for third-party services).
2) How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve QuizHype features.
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and personalize experiences.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Send transactional messages (e.g., confirmations, reminders, alerts).
- Provide support and respond to inquiries.
- Monitor performance, debug, prevent fraud/abuse, and ensure security.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3) Legal Bases (EEA/UK only)
- Contract: to provide the service you requested.
- Legitimate interests: security, product improvement, basic analytics.
- Consent: cookies not strictly necessary; certain marketing communications.
- Legal obligation: recordkeeping and compliance.
4) How We Share Information
- Service providers: hosting, analytics, email/SMS, payments, support tooling—bound by confidentiality and processing agreements.
- Payments: we share necessary info with our payment processor (e.g., Stripe) to process transactions.
- Legal/security: to comply with law, protect rights, prevent fraud/security incidents.
- Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred.
- With your direction/consent: for integrations or shared quiz rooms/events.

5) Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use cookies and local storage to keep you logged in, remember preferences, analyze usage, and secure the Service. You can control cookies in your browser settings; disabling some may break core functionality.
6) Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand feature usage and improve performance. Where required, we seek consent before setting analytics cookies.
7) Payments
Subscriptions are processed by our payment processor (e.g., Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers. The processor may collect and process payment data according to its own privacy notice.
8) Email & SMS
- Transactional: account verification, confirmations, reminders, important notices (cannot generally opt out).
- Marketing: product news and promotions (you can opt out at any time via the message or by contacting us).
- SMS: standard carrier rates may apply; you can reply STOP to opt out of marketing SMS.
9) Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion—see Your Rights.
10) Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the risk (e.g., HTTPS/TLS, access controls). No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.
11) Your Privacy Choices & Rights
Access, correction, deletion
You can access and update certain information in your account. To request a copy, correction, or deletion of your data, contact us at privacy@quizhype.com.
Email/SMS preferences
Use unsubscribe links in emails or reply STOP to SMS. You can also email us to adjust preferences.
CCPA/CPRA (California)
- Right to know/access, correct, and delete personal information.
- Right to opt out of “selling” or “sharing” (for cross-context behavioral advertising). We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics.
- No discrimination for exercising your rights.
GDPR (EEA/UK)
- Rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object.
- You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
- You can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
12) Children’s Privacy
QuizHype is intended for use by schools/organizations under appropriate agreements and by individuals 18+ or with parent/guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided personal data without consent, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
13) International Data Transfers
We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs) for cross-border transfers.
14) Third-Party Links & Integrations
Our Service may link to or integrate with third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; please review those notices.
15) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll post the updated version and adjust the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be notified as required by law.
